I have to post some pretty pictures I took with the goats this morning. After running errands and eating breakfast this morning, I decided, as I often do, to take the goats for a stroll. It was such a beautiful morning and the breeze was blowing just hard enough that it steadily rained down crispy yellow leaves upon the 4 of us.
Here's a nice chest shot of Tierra. I had just set the camera down and started the timer when she decided she had to go see what the big deal was with the shiny little box making all the noise.
This is a picture of Lucy standing against the fence polishing off the rest of the leaves still clinging to survival.
I LOVE my goats. They are everything I ever thought they would be.

Ay yi yi!, DCV! Tell me that is not a rhododendron Lucy is trying to eat! They are muy poisonous, in case you didn't know. Besides that, pictures are very lovely! Even the one of the Nubian chest. :)

Pretty sure that one's not rhododendron. Just looked up the leaves on Internet and these look lumpier. Although, the first day out in the new pasture Tierra got really sick. I later caught her pulling some day-lilly-looking leaves that the previous owners had planted through the fence and eating them. I took them away from her and went through and uprooted all of them along my fence. For all I know I just killed prize-winning flowers, but I didn't want to take the chance. Do you know if magnolia is poisonous for goats? It grows wild back there and they're always trying to eat it.

Hi, DCV, here is Fias Co Farms list of poisonous plants. It says Magnolia is edible, although I have no first hand experience myself. http://fiascofarm.com/goats/poisonousplants.htm Might pay to make sure you don't have any rhododendron around. By the way, many things in the lily family are poisonous, so I'm thinking 'good move' on your part! :)
Your goats are lovely! I had a small herd of dairy goats (Nubians) a few years ago. I missed my goats so I am the proud momma of a Alpine Cross.
